ORDER & CANCELLATION

What do I get for ordering a 1-Day, 2-Days or 3-Days package?
 - The 1-Day meal package includes: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch and 1 hearty soup that is large enough to use as a meal.
 - The 2-Days meal package includes: 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 hearty soups.
 - The 3
-Days meal package includes: 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 3 hearty soups.

By when do I have to place my order to receive food the following week?
All orders need to be placed by Saturday at 10:00 p.m. (PST) to be delivered the following week.  

When are orders delivered?
- For customers residing in the San Francisco East Bay area, meals can be delivered Wednesday through Friday.  If no specific delivery date is instructed on your order, we will delivery your meals on Wednesday.
- For customers residing outside the San Francisco East Bay area, meals will be delivered on Thursday or Friday.

Can I customize my order?
Yes, we would be happy to customize the order for you.  To customize your order, you can leave a detailed note on your order, or email us at 
customerservice@nirvanakitchen.com or call us at 1-877-798-6288.  

Can I cancel my order?
All canceled orders for the following week must be received by Saturday at 10:00 p.m. in order to receive a full refund.

How do refunds work?
Credits are issued within 14 business days, but may not appear on your statement for one to two billing cycles. Refunds issued by paper check can take up to four weeks to be processed.  Meals that have been shipped are not refundable unless they result from our error. Credits are issued back to the original method of payment for the returned product.  Please note that Nirvana Kitchen is not responsible for any bank or credit card fees that you may incur.

Is there a minimum order requirement?
There is no minimum order requirement.  

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Where do you deliver?
We deliver orders to your home or your office throughout the continental United States. Local orders in the San Francisco Bay Area are delivered by Van. Orders outside the San Francisco Bay Area are delivered by FedEx.

Can I use P.O. Box as shipping address?
No, we do not deliver to P.O. Boxes.

What are the delivery charges?
Delivery charges are calculated based on your geographic location and the total weight of your order. We offer free delivery for customers residing in the listed states. For customers residing outside these states, FedEx automatically calculates shipping charges during the ordering process, and you will be able to review them before checking out.

Free delivery to the following states: AZ, CA, ID, NV, OR, UT, WA

How are the meals sent out?
All Nirvana Kitchen meals are fresh, so we package and seal meals in special containers and place them in an insulated box with ice packs. 

How will I know my delivery is on the way?
After placing your order, you will receive an automated email with a tracking number. In the event that you do not receive the tracking information, please notify us immediately. FedEx does not call to notify you of delivery.

What happens when the package arrives at my door, but I am not home to receive it?
FedEx will only make one delivery attempt and leave the package at your door with a FedEx delivery record that confirms proof of delivery.  Meals are packaged in an insulated box and will be safe for you to eat when you arrive home, but it is best to place meals in the refrigerator as soon as you arrive home to maintain optimum freshness.  Since meals are perishable, we strongly advise you to arrange for someone to refrigerate them upon delivery if you will not be able to pick up your package before the end of the day.

How long can I keep the meals in the shipping package?
You should remove your meals from their boxes on the day they are delivered and place them in the refrigerator.

What do I do with the empty box and ice packs?
Nirvana Kitchen has a green packaging rewards program called Green Earth, Healthy You.  By sending five insulation liners and ice packs back to us using a prepaid shipping label, you will receive a $5 coupon for your next order.  If you choose not to participate in our Green Earth, Healthy You program, we recommend recycling your shipping boxes and liners, and reusing ice packs or disposing them in the trash. 

To participate in our Green Earth, Healthy You program, simply email us at greenearthrewards@nirvanakitchen.com with your name, address and telephone number.  We will email you a prepaid shipping label.  After we receive the liners and ice packs, we’ll send you a $5 coupon redeemable for future purchases.

What if there is a problem/error with a meal that has been delivered?

Does Nirvana Kitchen ship on holidays?
Unfortunately, Nirvana Kitchen does not ship during some holiday weeks.  All meal plans are automatically suspended during the following blackout weeks in 2014: May 26, June 30, September 1, November 24 and December 22.   Your shipment will automatically be shipped on Tuesday following the blackout date.

MENUS & CUSTOMIZATION

How do the meals stay fresh?
We use a special packaging that removes oxygen from the meal container to minimize oxidation.  This packaging technology keeps meals fresher longer.

How long will my food keep?
Since our meals are vegan and packaged using a special process, they keep extremely well if they're refrigerated after delivery.  Almost all our dishes will keep for at least 10 days after delivery.  Many of our meals can be put in the freezer if you plan to keep anything for over 10 days.  Please feel free to ask us about the shelf life of any particular dish.

Do I have to use a microwave to heat my meals?
You can use a microwave to heat the meals in the original meal containers.  If you prefer to heat your meals on the stove or in the oven, you need to place the meals in a stove- or oven-safe pot or glass or ceramic cookware.

Can I lose weight by eating Nirvana Kitchen vegan meals?
Our Healthy Choice meal plan are lower in calories and fats to help you lose weight and higher in fiber and protein to fill you up and give you sustained energy.  The meals are portion-controlled to track and keep calorie intake within the recommended range*  

*We recommend a daily intake of 1200-1400 calories for women and 1600-1800 calories for men for healthy weight loss

How do the meals improve my health?
All Nirvana Kitchen vegan menus and recipes are created based on our guiding principle of “Good Food is not just tasty; it heals.”  Our approach to food merges Eastern traditions of healing through diet with modern Western nutritional science.  

- Our high fiber, whole grain meals promote gastrointestinal (GI) health and help prevent or alleviate medical conditions such as constipation, hemorrhoids and diverticular disease.  Studies also show that fiber-rich foods can reduce the risk of developing bowel cancer. 

- Naturally occurring prebiotics in wholesome ingredients like oats and barley, as well as anti-oxidants in fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits, promote heart health and can reduce blood cholesterol levels.

- Our bodies and taste buds adjust to crave the foods that we are used to eating.  Nirvana Kitchen vegan meals help your body “relearn” to have a healthy appetite for plant-based whole foods. You will feel better, look better and look forward to eating healthy meals. 

Do you offer an organic meal program?
Nirvana Kitchen does not offer 100% organic meal programs; however many of our ingredients are organic.

Do Nirvana Kitchen meals contain trans fats?
Nirvana Kitchen uses only natural ingredients, and there are no trans fats in any of our products.  Our meals also do not contain partially hydrogenated oils, additives, preservatives.

GLUTEN-FREE & FOOD ALLERGIES

Do you offer gluten-free options?
We currently do not offer a gluten-free meal plan.  But some of our dishes are naturally gluten-free.  However, these dishes are not made in an entirely gluten-free facility.

I have food allergies. Is there a possibility of cross-contamination in your facility?
Nirvana Kitchen respects the needs of our consumers who suffer from food allergies, and we take every precaution to ensure that cross-contamination of ingredients does not occur in our kitchen.  However, we produce meals containing wheat, soy, nuts and seeds in the same kitchen, so please call us if you need help to decide which of our products you can safely consume.*

*We do not recommend our products for people with celiac disease or other severe food allergies.

PROMOTIONS

Do you offer coupons or other types of promotions?
We periodically offer coupons or discounts on our website and Facebook page.  To take advantage of these promotions, simply register with us to be notified on upcoming promotions. 

Can I get a discount if I refer my friends?
Yes you can! For every one of your friends who becomes a Nirvana Kitchen customer, you’ll get $15 off your next order.  Just be sure to have your friends tell us they are referred by you when they place their first order.
